I took your practice test

I took your practice test yesterday and got a 58%. I have been going through the answers to see what I did wrong. I understand it but it seems like I need to pay more attention to details. I am suppose to take the CPC test for the second time on Saturday Oct. 20th. If you were me would you just study what I got wrong and go ahead and take the test on Saturday while the information is fresh or would you put off taking the test and do more studying?

The decision is best made by you because you know your level of confidence and knowledge better than anyone. Were your mistakes just because you rushed through, do you think you can be more careful if you try, or was it really a case of not really having enough information under your belt, and you really need to spend more time preparing? Either way, eventually you will be able to pass the exam if you rectify these problems, so don't be down on yourself.

I just looked up on the AAPC website the details of canceling an exam, so I could be more informed about their cancellation policies. Under FAQs I found, How do I cancel an exam? you can call the AAPC National office at 800-626-2633 or email at exams@aapc.com .A $25 cancellation fee will be charged when canceling less than 14 days prior to the examination date. If you decide to cancel today, I would recommend calling them, given that your scheduled exam is tomorrow.

I can't make the decision for you because the score doesn't tell me the whole story. If you decide to take the test, do your best...you may pass, but if not you will get valuable experience so you will be better prepared next time. If you decide not to take it, you will be out another $25 but you will have time to better prepare.

Good luck no matter what you decide to do!

Just reread your post and saw this is your second time taking the exam. If you can cancel and still take the exam again within the allowable period of time, that might be best. Otherwise you will lose your second test opportunity for the price you already paid. So keep that it mind when making your decision.

It also depends on when you took the first exam. You have a year to retake it. For example, if you took it in June, then you can cancel it and wait a little longer to retake it. If you took it in October last year, then go ahead and retake the exam.
